This is the trailer for the new independent movie from Egg Murders Productions - PULLING PUSH DOORS. Pulling Push Doors was written by Aaron Hendren, and stars Katy Houska, Jason Witter, Serouj Bingham, Laura J Hosek, Katie Farmin, Drew Morrison, and Joanna Furgal. After losing her parents and being left by her boyfriend, Bubblegum Teddybear moves from Kansas to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She rejects the dating life and lives in a ghost world, where she is fully aware that her life is a movie. Bubblegum is familiar with cinematic structure and tries to make problems for herself so that her movie can have a happy ending. Despite her best efforts, love follows her and pushes her genre ever closer to tragedy. The visual style of Pulling Push Doors comes from a love of arthouse cinema and from the innovations of several German movies of the late 1920s and very early 1930s. The black and white, the shifts in light and focus, and the use of text on screen were heavily influenced by films like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, M, and People on Sunday. However, the story and humor of Pulling Push Doors is contemporary. Director and writer, Aaron Hendren describes the movie and its blending of styles as, "So German it’s French." That is Hendren’s humor for you.
