Description
"Uncut Gems" is a new film from Safdie brothers, Josh and Benny, independent filmmakers best known for their 2017 critically acclaimed "Good Time". This film is said to be inspired by their father's work in the Manhattan Diamond Distric. Jonah Hill was originally reported to star, but he was replaced by Adam Sandler. Comedian isn't surely the most surprising addition to the cast already featuring likes of Idina Menzel, The Weeknd, Trinidad James and Kevin Garnett. Lakeith Stanfield, Judd Hirsch and Pom Klementieff will also appear. Martin Scorsese is a co-producer of "Uncut Gams", which will be internationally distributed via Netflix. The picture is already filmed and it's rumoured to have a premiere at Cannes.
The film follows the story of a jewelry store owner Howard Ratner as he attempts to land the biggest score of his career while also dealing with other drama in his life. The fact that the movie is directed by the Safdie Brothers is reason enough to get everyone excited about this film. And it's set for a DVD screener this year.

When I saw it, I really thought it's fake, but it looks like we got our first screener of the season. I'm not sure if it's actually Academy Award copy - the resolution is higher than your standard DVD screener, and it can't be online stream either (Netflix didn't even put up Uncut Gems yet). It could be a promotional copy for talk show or something like this. It's also not Hive, the source is anonymours for now. We will see if he/she's got more.
