Speer Goes to Hollywood

Albert Speer is an enigma. The highest-ranking Nazi in Nuremberg who escaped death row was one of Hitler's closest confidants and his chief architect, charged with the task of rebuilding Berlin as the capital of the world empire. Like Reichsminister, Speer was responsible for 12 million slaves. Despite this, to this day he still has the reputation of having been "a good Nazi", a myth that he himself built over the years with great care. This documentary illustrates his participation in the script for a Paramount Pictures film based on his own book, "Inside the Third Reich", in which, based on months of audio tapes recorded by Andrew Birkin, the German tries to wash his name. It also includes footage never before seen and recorded before, during and after World War II.
