Like a Boss

The movie "Like A Boss" is a 2020 comedy film directed by Miguel Arteta. Written by Sam Pitman starred Tiffany Haddish, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Rothwell, Billy Porter, and Salma Hayek. Basically the story follows two beautiful ladies, friends for that matter, who wants to take back their cosmetics company from the clutches of an industrial Titan. Paramount Pictures released the movie on the 20th of January 2020 and has since grossed over 29.7 million US dollars in the box office, and is gearing up to be one of the most downloaded and streamed R-rated comedies this year.

The movie proceeds with two friends Mia and Mel, who owns a cojoined cosmetics company called "Mia&Mel" while both having very distinct personalities. Mia for one, is a more inventive and practical type while Mel basically just wants to get rich as quickly as she can and then live a life of luxury. But somehow, the company runs into a huge debt and they are forced to get in bed with a dishonest businesswoman by the name Claire Luna, so as to save their moribund company. However, Claire Luna who is the head of a major cosmetic conglomerate intends to steal their business away from them. Luna successfully pushes her luck and got the two friends to fire every single worker in their organisation. She even went as far as advertising one little bad idea the friends had in an attempt to take back their companies at one of her other companies in the movie.

Now the two friends must unite, setting aside their individual differences and do as much as they can to take back their company. Mia and Mel temporarily went their separate ways for a while but they came back together after their friends and families explained to them why they needed each other if they wanted to defeat the business tyrant Luna. While the faced the inevitability of them losing their company, the two friends approached Shay, Luna's former business partner, so that they can start a new company called "Proud Cosmetics". The company intends to sell their new cosmetic product tagged "Ride or Die". This make-up is basically intended to be used by best friends together who will most likely face their nights out and help them be the best they can be. Mia and Mel successfully sell this mind blowing cosmetic product, under the umbrella of their newly found company "Proud Cosmetics", while Claire Luna takes full control of Mia&Mel but still required to pay them 49% of all subsequent earnings.

Why is Like a Boss rated R?
Like a Boss is rated R by the MPAA because of its language, crude sexual material, and drug use. According to reviewers, the movie was deemed not fit for family viewing and had "a coarse and poorly written script that practically has no appeal to adults".
