Description
Emmy award-winning producer Jason Hehir takes the helm for the new documentary from HBO Films, centered on the biggest attraction in professional wrestling history. Standing at seven feet, four inches tall, André Roussimoff wrestled around the world for twenty-nine years before dying at the young age of forty-six due to congestive heart failure. While growing up in France, he displayed symptoms of gigantism very early in his life (one telling point was being inable to fit on his school bus, seriously). The crazy world of spandex would welcome him when he was only nineteen, but would very soon skyrocket in popularity. Thus, Andre The Giant, “The Eighth Wonder of the World”, had been born, and would soon be one of the very first sports entertainers to crossover into film with his role in the hit film “The Princess Bride”.
