The writers expressed they'll probably take inspiration from "Sonic Adventures 2" and "Shadow The Hedgehog" games. So Sonic, Tails and Knuckles will have to confront the anti-hero, Shadow the hedgehog, a creation by scientist Gerald Robotnik (Dr. Eggman's grandfather), while probably being brainwashed by Dr. Eggman Robotnik, who will use him and Metal Sonic, a badnik version of Sonic, to possess the chaos emeralds. Amy Rose and Big the Cat will reportedly show up to help Sonic and his team.
