Description
Hypnotic is a 2023 American science fiction action thriller film directed by Robert Rodriguez, who co-wrote the screenplay with Max Borenstein. The film stars Ben Affleck, Alice Braga, J. D. Pardo, Hala Finley, Dayo Okeniyi, Jeff Fahey, Jackie Earle Haley and William Fichtner. Rodriguez also produced, co-shot, and edited the film, while his sons Rebel and Racer Max served as composer and producer, respectively.
In the film, Detective Daniel Rourke (Affleck) is investigating the disappearance of his daughter when he comes across a mysterious hypnotist named Lev Dell Rayne (Fichtner). Rayne claims to be able to help Rourke find his daughter, but Rourke soon realizes that Rayne is not what he seems. Rayne is a powerful hypnotist who is using his abilities for nefarious purposes, and Rourke must race against time to stop him before he can harm anyone else.
